OXFORD PLAYHOUSE LAUNCHES THE NEW ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE SCHEME

"Oxford Playhouse has officially launched its new Artists in Residence scheme, Evolve."

Location: www.oxfordplayhouse.com

mentoring
Evolve is a rolling year-long scheme which will support three individual artists or companies by offering a range of practical and in-kind support, including seed funding for projects, rehearsal space, creative development and peer mentoring. It is aimed at emerging artists and companies, or mid-career individuals at a juncture in their practice, who feel that access to support, resources and input from the Oxford Playhouse team will help them evolve creatively and professionally.

OP Producer Michelle Walker comments, "We’re hugely excited to be launching Evolve as part of our commitment to supporting and developing artists. Oxford is already a creative hub in the South East region and we want it to remain a compelling place for practitioners to make work. We’re inviting artists to engage with the theatre and the city, and we hope that their creative practice will be fuelled by the opportunities, complexities, and communities they find here."

Previous Artists in Residence include Paterson Joseph and Idle Motion. These artists will now become Associate Artists of the Playhouse.
