Oxford is now at most no more than four hours from the heart of Paris or Brussels. No more than eight hours from Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Köln, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Zürich.

Direct high speed trains are now available from Paris, Lille and Brussels to London via the Eurostar.

The Eurostar terminal is now at London’s St. Pancras Station. For details of the journey see   Brussels Eurostar or  Eurostar

How to get to Oxford from London's St. Pancras Station

There are several ways to get to Oxford from St.Pancras including:

1.For those seeking the quickest way to Oxford and Headington.

Take the London Underground using either the Circle or Metropolitan line west to Baker Street station, which is next to Madame Tussauds exhibition centre. Its only four stops on the line, so allow 20 mins to Baker Street.

For X90 express busses to Oxford, walk to the Gloucester Place bus stop outside the Bickenhall Hotel  (see bus stop Q on map), which is only ten minutes walk from Baker Street Station. Expect to wait at most 10 to 15 mins for buses to Oxford between 9AM and 6PM. At other times there is a bus every half hour throughout the night.

The journey time to the heart of Oxford can take 1 hr 40 mins at rush hour, but on the way into Oxford the bus stops at Thornhill Park and Ride, Headington Shops for Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital, Gipsy Lane for  Oxford Brookes University before entering the historic heart of the city, where it will stop at Queens Lane and Carfax before ending its journey at Gloucester Green Bus Station in Central Oxford Allow  I hr 10 mins for the journey to Headington from Bus stop Q at Gloucester Place London.

2. For those seeking to catch the train to Oxford.

Take the Circle or Metropolitan line west to Paddington Station. Allow at least 30 mins for this. At Paddington catch a First Great Western Train to Oxford. At rush hour the trains can be overcrowded with commuters, so you may have to stand all the way. Allow at least an hour and ten minutes for this service.
